Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Solutions Architect to define end-to-end architecture for payment processing systems, including acquiring, issuing, gateways, fraud prevention, and settlement. The role is involved in designing scalable, high-availability payment solutions leveraging cloud technologies, microservices, and APIs, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as PCI-DSS, PSD2, and GDPR. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fintech, payments, or digital services, with expertise in payment protocols, cloud-native architectures, and API design.

Responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in software architecture, preferably in fintech, payments, or digital services
  • Deep expertise in payment protocols (ISO 8583, SWIFT, SEPA, ACH, RTP, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, and serverless.
  • Strong knowledge of API design (REST, GraphQL, gRPC), event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Familiarity with security standards (PCI-DSS, tokenization, encryption, HSM).
  • Experience with digital wallets, card processing, merchant acquiring, or BNPL solutions is a plus.
  • Certifications (AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, CISSP) preferred.
Requirements

1. Solution Design & Architecture

  • Define end-to-end architecture for payment processing systems, including acquiring, issuing, gateways, fraud prevention, and settlement.
  • Design scalable, high-availability payment solutions leveraging cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, and APIs.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, PSD2, GDPR, and other regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party payment providers (PSPs, BNPL, cross-border payments).
  • Optimize transaction processing for low latency, high throughput, and fault tolerance.

2. Technical Leadership

  • Lead architectural discussions with engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Provide guidance on emerging payment technologies (real-time payments, blockchain, tokenization, Open Banking).
  • Drive proof-of-concepts (PoCs) for new payment innovations.
  • Mentor and coach solution architects and engineers.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Partner with security, compliance, and risk teams to ensure robust and secure architectures.
  • Engage with external partners for seamless integrations.

4. Performance & Scalability

  • Conduct system performance reviews and recommend optimizations.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for payment systems.
  • Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity strategies are in place.
